Blue chews-daze: Summer transfers - Permanent ins & outs

This’ll be the first ever time I’ve collated information about summer transfers, both in & out, with the emphasis on money spent against money recouped from permanent sales.

I started collating the information when I realised just how many players were rumoured to be leaving us, which both they and others eventually did (a club record, by all accounts).

I was intrigued, knowing that we’d targeted some key signings of our own and wondered if we’d actually make a summer profit; despite the fact that we’d be bringing in some seriously top-quality players to both replace departing personnel and to add to other areas of our team.

I’ve noticed that some other online publications have already done similar articles; they’ve beaten me to it and that was a simple case of me not getting the time to finish it off in-between pre-match blog postings…

That balance figure, as I’ve said, actually includes the WINTER transfer signing of Julian Alvarez and, so, if I was to take that out and give a true ‘summer-only’ balance figure, it comes out at £58.25M profit +add-ons to come.
